Privacy policy.
Plain English, no surprises: what this site collects, what never leaves your device, and the choices you have.
Updated September 5, 2026 (release draft) · benwalther.com
The short version
- I collect your email address only when you type it in and hit submit. Never before.
- The site uses Vercel’s cookieless analytics and speed measurements. It also counts assessment completion, resource use, booking clicks, and checkout clicks. It does not send your answers or written plan to analytics.
- Your assessment answers and written next-step plan stay in your browser. If you request an email, only your email address and the three aggregate scores leave the device: clarity, momentum, and self-trust.
- Course emails include an unsubscribe link. Requested copies and personal coaching messages are separate from course subscriptions. I never sell or rent your information.
What I collect, and why
Email requests. MailerLite handles signup for Your First Move, the five-day course. Resend handles explicitly requested guide copies and assessment summaries when that service is configured. A guide request sends your email address and the guide identifier. An assessment request sends your email address and three aggregate scores, each out of 100. A request identifier helps prevent duplicate sends when you retry. Neither request subscribes you to the course. Provider acceptance does not confirm arrival in your inbox.
Booking an intro call. Scheduling is handled by Cal.com; when you book, I receive the name, email, and anything you add to the booking, and I use them to hold the call and reply to you.
Technical basics. Like nearly every website, my hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard server logs — things like IP addresses and page requests — to run and secure the site. I don't use them to identify or profile you.
What stays on your device
The assessment saves progress, result history, and your next-step plan in this browser’s local storage. Raw answers and plan text are never included in an email request. Clearing browser data removes these local records. If storage is blocked, you can still finish and print; progress may not survive a reload.
Site measurement
This site uses cookieless measurement and does not load advertising or social-media trackers. Booking and payment services have their own privacy terms.
It does run two measurement tools from Vercel, my host: Web Analytics, which counts page views and the action events described above, and Speed Insights, which times how fast pages load. Both are cookieless and both record events in aggregate — page, referrer, country, device type — with no identifier that follows you between visits or across sites. I use them to know which resources people use and where the experience needs improvement. Completed bookings and purchases are checked against Cal.com and Stripe records, rather than inferred from clicks.
Who I share data with
A few service providers process data on my behalf: MailerLite (course subscriptions), Resend (requested copies), Cal.com (call scheduling), Stripe (payments, when you buy something), and Vercel (website hosting). Each is bound by its own privacy and data protection terms. I don't sell, rent, or trade your information with anyone, ever.
Your choices and rights
- Every course email includes an unsubscribe link. You can use free downloads without subscribing or requesting an email.
- You can ask me to show you, correct, or permanently delete any data I hold about you — just email hello@benwalther.com.
- If you're in the EU, UK, or a US state with privacy laws, those rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) apply here, and I honor them without the runaround.
Retention
Course subscription records remain with MailerLite while the subscription is active. Requested-delivery records may include recipient, scores or guide identifier, and provider status. Server logs and provider records follow those services’ retention settings. Contact me to request access, correction, or deletion; transaction records may need to be retained for business requirements.
Children
This site and my coaching are for adults. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has submitted data, email me and I'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, I'll update the date at the top and, for subscribers, say so by email. No silent rewrites.
